Departed Yacht Haven Annapolis. Passed through mooring field. Due to power of the wind, raised main reefed. Leah and Tal had some difficulties holding boat into the wind for hoising and lower sail. Additional practice and training required. Boat handled rather poorly. Noticeable weather helm. Lazy jacks and topping lift too tight affecting sail shape. Missing stays on two occassions. Once used motor to push through head to wind. Spent time learning to read wind vane and determining actions needed to hold vessel head to wind with engine. Failed to use the term "head to wind"...teach this next outing. Some drama, some fustrations with inabilty to communicate certain concepts, such as "into the wind" to all aboard. Excellent entry to slip A-5...just nailed it. Ended too late to make Sweet Frog. Hopefully next outing will have moderate breezes and the opportunity to hoist both main fully and unfurl jib.

Mainsheet somewhat difficult. Investigate. Possibly rove incorrectly perhaps using ratch blocks backwards. Had to re-reeve travaller adjustment lines to eliminate crossing of lines and obtain fair exit from blocks and entry into cam cleats.
