Sailed out to "A" and into Whitehall Bay. Wind softening in that bay. Tacked and formed course to "4", cutting the corner inside "A". Course approximately 270d magnetic. As shown on the chart there is a shallow area just before reaching "A" from the east. Shoaled to 6'. Depth sounder alarmed. Passed over the bar without incident. Continued on to the entrance to Back Creek, taking before reaching "2E". Formed course for "6". Tacked and formed course for entrance to Eastport Yacht Club. Observed the crowd on the deck of the Eastport Yacht Club...the Eastport Solomons Race scheduled to start at in the near future. Observed the race committee boat depart to take up position. Sailed out to the vicinity of David Taylor. Tacked and sailed past the Annapolis Yacht Club to the bascule bridge. Wore ship, head to "SC1". Tacked. Engaged engine. Dropped sail and returned to dock. Time to prepare the boat to sail down to 22 minutes. Similar time to pack the boat away after sailing. Perhaps we can get it down to 15 minutes by the end of the season. Perfect weather. Perhaps the best sail yet.
