Departed Yacht Haven Annapolis within 15 minutes of getting to the boat. Left dock with sail cover still in place. While passing through mooring field, removed sail cover. Wind blowing down Spa Creek, later blowing from the south. Made sail on the way out to "SC1".

Encounterd what appeared to be another Alberg 30 sailing outside of the entrance to Back Creek. No logo on sail. No sail number. Altered course to cut across the Severn River to the vicinity of "G6" upstream from Greenbury Point to close the unidentifed boat. Tacked over to a parallel course and proceeded to chase.

Wind having risen to 13 knots or there about, the vessel was making 5.8 to 6.3 knots over the ground per the GPS. Closed the unidentified vessel some distance out into the bay, short of half way across. That's when I noticed that the boat has a roller furler jib that was not fully deployed...guessing two or three turns still on the roller. Farthest I have taken Dan out to date.

The unidentified boat proved to be an Alberg 30, #207, Valhöll owned by J. Todd Wittbold out of Port Annapolis. Todd W...filmed #262 for a few minutes. Hope to receive video in email (262alberg30@gmail.com). After sailing in company and speaking for some minutes, turned back to Annapolis as the time was about 17:00 on a Friday afternoon.

Sailed into the area downstream of David Taylor to look around a section of the river that I had never entered before. Saw a police boat alongside a power boat and decided to reverse course an leave the area. Returned to just outside of Spa Creek. Dropped sail and returned to dock.

Perfect weather. Excellent sail.
