Departed Yacht Haven Annapolis. Motored past the Pride of Baltimore berthed at the National Sailing Hall of Fame so that the family could view her from the water. Her stern caprail overshadows the cabin top of #262. Formed course from the inner corner of the Naval Academy to the corner of Sycamore Point, then reversed course, into the wind to raise sail. Rolled out the jib. Sailed from Eastport Yacht Club to the US Navy Marine Engineering Laboratory. Back and forth to allow the family to steer and to gain some level of comfort on the boat. After somewhat more than an hour, the grandkids had begun to show some signs of weariness. Returned to dock at Yacht Haven Annapolis. Aquaduk'ed the engine.
Stopped at Sweet Frog on the way home. My wife said "This is pleasant", perhaps for the first time. Aliza reported that sailing is great and wants to know when we will go sailing again. Hayyim enjoyed chewing on the bitter end of the main halyard.
Encountered a problem with the starboard cabin top #16 Lewmar Ocean winch. The winch is missing a stripper ring and the halyard tail, which should have been stripped off the winch from between the jaws, curled under the feeder arm under significant pressure. Issue resolved by uncrewing the 'O' Ring and removing the feeder arm so that the main halyard could be freed.
