2016 Winterization
- Electrical:
- Disconnect automatic bilge pump from batteries...no need to run them all winter
- Batteries: Fore: 12.45v, Aft: 12.40v
- Engine:
- Filled diesel 5.647 gallons required
- Changed engine oil (Shell Rotella T
15W40, 2 quarts) and filter (Yanmar).
- Changed transmission oil (SAE 30, about 1/3 quart).
- Two raw water pump bolts (12mm heads) removed, greased, and replaced loosely.
- Propylene glycol run through heat exchanger and allowed to flow out into bilge.
- Raw water pump impeller removed from pump and tied to pump body.
- Fan belts removed and placed salon forward bulkhead locker port side.
- Waterlift muffler removed, flushed, emptied, reinstalled empty.
- General:
- Unloaded boat.
- Vacuumed all water out of bilge
- Verified cockpit drains draining well.
- Tied tiller aligned with center off boat so that rudder hangs straight....minimal stress.
- Placed a container of Starbrite
12oz No Damp
in the v-berth.
- Covered boat with three section cover that came with the boat
- Head:
- Pumped out holding tank, pumped raw water into holding tank, pumped out again.
- Sails:
- Removed sails.
- Tied down jib furler upper swivel so that it can't be sky'ed.
- Rerove jib halyard through block, deck organizer, and rope clutch in place of spinnaker halyard.
