Easy pleasant sail despite the weather. Skies have been overcast with rain for about a month. There have been a few sunny, even beautiful days, but they have been quite few. Leah is getting more comfortable steering, can almost move the tiller the correct direction each time...not quite there yet but just about. Once the wind reached force 4, Tal said "Now we're sailing!". At 2,800 rpm, sustained 6 knots. With better (proper?) trim, achieved nearly 6 knots upwind under full jib and main on a close reach in about 12 knots of wind.
Motored to R"14" in the Severn to fully warm the engine and provide some faster moving water to "scrub" the bottom and propeller. Sailed downwind past the R"4" and left the "A" to port. Rigged for spinnaker, was considering the set despite force 3 winds, till we discovered that TC, John and I had cut the port light air spinnaker sheet for some reason on 2015-05-17...the day we bought the boat and moved her from Solomon's to Yacht Haven Annapolis.
Stopped by West Marine and gave them the chopped spinnaker sheet to duplicate, reusing the hardware. Line is red New England Ropes 3/16 inch Sta-Set .
