Prior the race, entered a newly acquired MMSI into the VHF 600 . Need to connect the GPSMAP 192C . Tested the unit against the USGC Test Call MMSI.

Five boats came out to race: Argo #247, Laughing Gull #197, Lingin #244, Wicked #267, and Second-2-Nun #484. Course "B4", beat up to the drop mark "A", reach up the bay to "B", beat down the bay to "E", tightish broad reach with spinnakers flying back to R "8" where the shortened race was completed.

Boat was favored. We started mid-line and consquently about four boat lengths leeward of everyone. All boats on starboard tack with the wind out of the south. Wicked tacked early to port and stood in towards Back Creek, losing ground on the fleet in the process. Argo's first tack placed her immediately upwind of the Etchells fleet as they rounded G "6", completing their first lap. Much of the fleet crossed behind Argo, others crossed ahead. Argo tacked to avoid Etchells "Senior Moment". Later on the same beat, Argo was forced to tack by an Etchells "Senior Moment" ending up just to windward and close behind her. "Senior Moment" then proceeded to head up and forced Argo to tack again....thereby breaking Wheaton's Law .

Rounded "A"...Lingin, Laughing Gull, Argo, Wicked, Second-2-Nun. Sailed into a bit of a hole in the wind on this reaching leg. Rounded "B"...Lingin, Laughing Gull, Wicked, Argo, Second-2-Nun. All boats contined on starboard. Argo split from the fleet, tacking to port. Lingin, Laughing Gull, and Wicked made two boards of the beat. The split paid off well, despite having to tack twice. Rouding "E" the order was Lingin, Laughing Gull, with Argo close behind, and well back were Wicked and Second-2-Nun. During the final leg, Argo sailed higher, passing Laughing Gull to several boat lengths to windward. Wind faded as the leg progressed. Switched from standard spinnaker sheets to light sheets.

Finishing order: Lingin, Argo, Laughing Gull, Argo, and Second-2-Nun
