Headed out from Yacht Haven Annapolis. Circled once in the mooring field to come back to the Eastport side of Spa Creek and raised sail upstream of the mooring field. Sailed past the Naval Academy. Tacked up the Severn past the Rt 50 bridge. Took a number of tacks which wore Tal out. Furled the jib to quiet the boat. Gusts had been strong enough to put the rail quite close to water at a 30 degree angle of heel. After a break, unrolled the jib again, without taking proper care as the furling line spun onto the furler. This lack of care resulted in a couple overrides on the furling drum, that were not detected till time came to furl the jib at the end of the morning's sail.

Ran down the river to the Naval Academy with sails wing and wing, which required repeated changes of course as the wind backed and veered over 30 degrees side to side on the way down the river. Once past the Naval Academy sought to furl the jib. At this point the overrides were detected..."why won't the damn jib furl!" Struck the jib down on deck. Will have to attend to the overrides on Monday...have to leave to make it to Bracha Bart Eichenbaum's sheva brachot at Royal Dragon.

Rule 25S may be getting iffy...too much water in the bilge. Pump did not come on immediately when switched to automatic. Did work after a bit.

Cleaning efforts have been rated a success by Leah...boat smells far better than ever. And I have not yet down the head, hanging locker, v-berths, area outside the icebox, or areas under the starboard settee.
