Arrived at the boat at 14:00, was out of the slip and sailing by 14:15.

Took eight tacks to clear the river. Clearly I am making one or more mistakes that I cannot tack the boat through an angle closer to 90 degrees. Seemed that each board would start well and then I would be headed and forced lower till the tacking angle approached 110 to 120 degrees. Once out of the river the tacking angle was markedly better for a couple tacks, but still an issue. Boat speed of 4.5 to 5.3 knots, mainly 4.8 or a bit higher.

At the turn around, 16:00, boat speed fell to less than 4 knots. Needed/wanted to get back to the by 17:00 so that I could arrive home early enough that Leah would not be worrying about Shabbat. Lowered the sails, turned on the engine, and powered back to the dock at about 5 knots.

Arrived at the dock at 15:05. Nailed the entry into the slip. Put the boat away in twenty minutes.
