Arrived at the boat, headed out quickly before removing the sail cover. Many dinghy racing fleets at the mouth of Spa Creek and downstream of the Naval Academy. Held course close to Eastport and Horn Point to avoid the racers. Raised sail at Horn Point and headed cross the river tacking four times to head out of the Severn to the Bay. Chased a Lucky Beneteau 4xx? 5xx?, keeping up with her well despite the great disparity in water line length. Sailed out, near close hauled hitting 6 knots and often 5+knots, till we could identify the freighter Federal Schelde.

Remarkably clear air. Able to see easily detail on both shores of the Bay and the Bay Bridge.

Upon getting close enough to read her name and hailing port, reversed course hitting as high as 6.7 on the GPSMAP 192C and returned to the area of Horn Point to drop sail in preparation for returning to dock.
