Engine started a bit slowly. Don't know why. Cooler weather of mid 40's overnight perhaps.
Motored around to Annapolis City Marina to get the holding tank pumped out and top off the tank with diesel fuel. Process is easy. There is a fitting that screws into the waste deck plate opening and allows for a positive locking fit to the pump out hose. Good to buy one of these. Wait for the sight glass to be empty. Perform some extra flusing of the head to clear the lines. Pump out again. Close the waste deck plate opening with the screw-in plug and its done.
Looked into the on engine fuel filter. There is a bleed screw located on the top of the filter housing inboard of the fuel supply line attachment. Operating the fuel pump on the starboard side of the engine aft of the oil dip stick by hand, a small rather delicate even lever, forces fuel into the on engine filter and out the bleed screw hole. Easy so long as one remembers to open the fuel shutoff valve and to bump the engine a bit, if needed, so that the cam is not preventing the fuel pump from cycling.
Added 5.647 gallons of diesel fuel at $2.369 a gallon while at Annapolis City Marina.
Drove around the harbor a bit to fully warm the engine before returning to dock. Repeated dodged Optis returning to AYC from a midday sail. Kids in training. Did not appear to have good control of their boats. Each was escorted by a runabout or RIB.
