- Washed off the fiberglass closing the manual bilge pump opening, cockpit openings for the knotmeter and 12v power, and the sidelight openings.
- Sanded the washed fiberglass smooth with the outer surface.
- Cleaned the sanded fiberglass with denatured alcohol.
- Applied about ten small patches of 6oz glass cloth to the outside of the sealed manual bilge pump opening, to bring the surface up to the level of the surrounding hull. Applied the first layer nearly dripping with epoxy, then applied each succeeding layer dry, patting it into the existing epoxy to absorb as much as possible and increase the glass to epoxy ratio. Repeated with additional layers till at least part of the glass remained dry, then added small amounts of epoxy to wet out the glass completely.
- Made a very thick mixture of collodial silica and epoxy to fill the surface imperfections of the cockpit openings for the knotmeter and 12v power, and the sidelight openings.
- Applied a good layer of the filler to the closed openings and scraped off the excess leaving the low spots filled.
-
- Applied second coat of paint to lower aft shroud knees.
