- Adjusted docklines. Had not been able to tie up the port spring line yesterday....the line was too short. Determined that I had placed the boat significantly farther forward in the slip than last year. Moved the boat aft. Moved the spring clip in the port spring forward. Retied the starboard spring to the bollard and dolphin to shift excess line in the starboard spring from forward spring to aft spring. Secured the port spring and the "hauling line" used to move the boat out of the slip. Replaced the port stern dockline with a 25' 3-strand nylon in place of the shorted double braid.
- The starboard cockpit scupper drains too slowly. Tried to run a coat hanger down the hose to clear any debris. No success. Coat hanger would hang up making the turn into the shutoff valve. Tried removing the hose...could be done, but with significant difficulty. Could have cut and replaced the 1-1/4" hose, but paused looking for a better answer. Decided to try vacuuming out the hose. The vacuum sucked up Bay water and with the water removed quite a handful of winged seed "helicopters". After that the scupper drains much better.
- Filled the cockpit with water to the bottom of the cockpit locker drains. Took about 70 seconds for the water to drain from the cockpit after shutting off the hose. Cockpit is a trapeziod of 28-1/2" x 60-1/2" x 22-1/2" with the cockpit locker drains 1-3/4" above the floor...about 11.7 gallons.
- Vacuumed all water out of the deepest section of the bilge.
- Whipped the ends of all the docklines.
- Removed and re-secured the cockpit icebox hatch. Some of the screws into wooden hatch had worked loose.
- Spent about half an hour visiting with John Beyerlein and another half-hour just enjoying being in the boat.
