Beautiful clear day. One of the clearest on the Bay so far. Able to Thomas Point Lighthouse clearly.

Sailed out of the Severn on port tack. Tacked up the Bay. Each tack was far closer to 90 degrees from the prevoius tack that in the past. Could be that maintaining a closehauled course is enough effort that its easy to relax and fall off the wind ten or twenty degrees. At times, moving at 6.3 knots, with 13.8 on the anemometer, and 30 degrees of heel. The boat was flying at that time on port tack. Its me. The boat is fine, so much for thinking that it might be faster on starboard tack than on port.

Drove from the low side more than usual. Better able to see the tell tales down there.

On the way back, tried winging out the jib using the spinnaker pole. Works well, provided that the poles ends don't release the jibsheet at random.

The Schooner Mistress was anchored in Spa Creek of the Naval Academy athletic fields. Good looking boat. Would be interesting to sail aboard her.
