- Determined that the top slide is popping off the mailsail track due to raising the main too high. The slot for the halyard is rather long, making the track that much shorter. If the gooseneck is raised above the midpoint of the gooseneck track, the top slide slides off the end of the track.
- Installed pan head #10-24 machine screw in place of flat head #10-24 machine screw to prevent the gooseneck for rising too high.
-
- Determined how to run the clew reefing line: from the post of the port side cheek block, up through the reef grommet, down to the starboard side cheek block, forward to a cheek block (to be installed) on the starboard side of the forward end of the boom, down to a block on deck, back through the deck organizer to a rope clutch. Decided upon single line reefing using a clew line only, as the bottom two slides need to come off the mast to place the tack reef grommet on the horn.
- Removed the boom from the boat to drill and tap four holes for #10-24 machine screws to hold the cheek block on the starboard side of the forward end of the boom.
- Decided to test drilling and tapping in a piece of scrap aluminum.
- NOT happy with how my own drill and tap set works.
- NOT happy with the looseness in the threaded hole made by TC's drill and tap set.
- NEED to find a better drill and tap set.
