Gotta rig the reefing line. Once again had to jury rig a reef line. The only item missing is the Schaefer 5 Series cheek block on the starboard side of the boom close to the gooseneck. The cheek block will allow a reef line from the end of the boom down to the turning block at the base of the mast, or up to the luff reef cringle and down to the turning block at the base of the mast. Setting this up with 17 knots across the masthead took some effort. The fastening at the boom end, bowline to pin in the cheek block, under the boom, up to the leech reef cringle, passed through from port to starboard, down to the cheek block on the starboard side of the boom at the aft end, forward to the gooseneck works nicely to pull the leech reef cringle both down and aft.
Gotta rig the outhaul forward along the boom so that it can be adjusted regardless of boom position. The current pair of double blocks works very well to apply sufficient force without requiring too much effort.
