Took the wife downtown yesterday. No sailing that day.
August weather today. No sailing today.
Removed the wooden panel holding the electrical panel and removed all items from the panel. Cut openings for a Rule 41
and a BelowDeck 12V Socket and Dual USB Charger
. While doing this
- Washed the fiberglass surfaces behind the wooden panel with TSP.
- Undid some of the wiring macrame performed by previous owners--more remains to be done.
- Secured the newly installed 6AWG cable from the alternator to the aft battery in a bundle with the other battery cables to the port side of the engine.
- Secured the bundle of cables to the wooden support for the steps so that the bundle is not in contact and cannot rub against the engine beds.
- Replaced the power cable to the VHF. The existing cable had been extended. Used cable previously removed. Once the icebox has been redone, this and all others will be replaced with new wiring.
- Cleaned up a number of connections from the wiring to the panel. Connections are better lead and cleaner. More to do as part of the rewiring.
- Tested all circuits. All verified. Excluding the anchor light as its too bright a day to see the anchor light. No reason to believe that it would not work.
Created a new always on 12v circuit by attaching a 14AWG wire with 3/8" ring terminal to the battery side of the m Series Mini On-Off Battery Switch with Key (6005)
. The always on circuit will power the Rule 41
and a BelowDeck 12V Socket and Dual USB Charger
.
Need to wire up the Rule 41
with the correct color code wires.
