Replaced spinnaker halyard with 75' polypropylene so that a replacement can be ordered after the existing is measured. Wetted down, scrubbed, and rinsed the deck.
Started with a single reef in the main which remained in place till turning for home when the apparent wind direction was 120* to port. The single reef is just more comfortable. Still the boat was heeling 20* or more while beating out of the harbor.
Sailed out to the far side of the Bay, till the depth sounder showed less than 5 feet of water, somewhat south of Matapeake. Wind near Kent Island was noticeably weaker. Apparent wind at 40* is about half a knot slower than apparent wind at 50*, which is slower again than apparent wind at 60*. Still it seems that port tack is slower than starboard tack. Perhaps switching hands on the tiller is the cause?
