Started recording the track upon raising sail. Due the winds and the shortness of the time available before the amatuer radio technician and general exams at 17:45 in Linthicum, MD, started with a single reef in the main and kept the reef the entire sail.
Headed back out of the Severn to R "4" twice. Beam reaching on the way out, reaching high 6's and touching 7 knots with the boat rather flattish. The sea state was rather flat. Winds would curl around Tolly Point from south towards the west, and curl coming out of Spa Creek from the south to the east. Less wind on the way back to the Naval Academy and much closer to a beat, about 40* to 60* apparant,
On the second lap, could have shaken out the reef, but did not as the wind might rise again (it did not) and did not want to spend the time reefing/un-reefing in place of sailing.
