Purpose: Begin Cockpit Painting Project

Weather: Mid 70's, nice breeze

  • Housekeeping:
    • Separated the rear section of the cover from the mid section to allow for air flow.
    • Placed the fan in the v-berth hatch and drew air though the boat for about three hours.
  • Removed companionway hatch and boards.
  • Removed icebox hatch, cockpit locker lids.
  • Took all the above home for refinishing.
  • Removed compass, depth sounder, wind indicator.
  • Removed Garmin GPS, GPS bracket, plug located to the port side of the GPS in the nook, a metal plate inside the nook behind the GPS. In removing the GPS antenna from the Garmin, mistook the connector for an F connector. Its a BNC. Due to the attempt the unscrew the "F connector", I broke the connection between the coax and the BNC. Need to fix this.
  • Removed a threaded item just above the starboard locker.
  • Removed the bar above the engine instrument panel.
  • Removed the engine instrument panel.
  • Removed the engine throttle control.
  • Removed the vent cowl and two bolts holding the exhaust hose zip ties from the aft bulkhead.
  • Next steps:
    • Remove the access plate in the cockpit floor
    • Remove the starboard and port coamings and winch pedestals.
