- Machine sanded all parts of the cockpit possible using the Ridgid quarter sheet sander
. Took about two hours.
- Machine sanded the inside sections of the starboard cockpit locker that will be covered or hard to reach once the instrument panel and engine throttle are reinstalled.
- Trimmed copper drain pipe that runs from the starboard cockpit locker drain channel to a spot just above the starboard cockpit scupper using the cutoff wheel of the Ridgid multitool
- Hand sanded all the other parts of the cockpit but for the cockpit floor.
- Forgot to hand sand the icebox opening.
- Next steps:
- Sand cockpit floor.
- Sand winch bases.
- Sand cover for indent in bridge deck.
- Hand sand the icebox opening.
- Scrape inside of cabin aft wall and side walls where the coamings land.
- Remove the access plate in the cockpit floor.
- Need to decide whether or not to remove the cockpit drains for this project.
