- Sanded cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover with 400 grit.
- Vacuumed cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover.
- Washed cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover and allowed to dry before proceeding.
- Wiped down the items to speed drying. So far 80 minutes into the day.
- Wiped down again.
- Passed a tack rag lightly over all.
- Applied first coat of Brightside
. Used about ten ounces. Should have covered about 43 square feet, theoretically, per the TDS stating 550 square feet per gallon. Figure that the area painted could be 36 square feet. [15*(2*60 + 28.5 + 22.5) + 2*8*80 + 24*(70-25) + 2*6*4 + 3*8*8]. Applied it too heavily with the brush while cutting all the corners, locker gutters, etc. Will sand those areas a bit more tomorrow to remove the excess. Foam brushes may not be suitable for this task. Have to get a couple real brushes and cleaner. Used the right amount with the roller. Would roll a small section and immediately tip it lightly. Have hopes that the roll-n-tip will produce nice results. Did not use any brushing reducer given the mid-fifties temperature. Took about two and a half hours.
