- Sanded cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover with 400 grit. Very light sanding pressure, just a couple of passes over the surface to create a bit of "tooth" for the next coat of paint.
- Hot water washed cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover.
- Hot water rinsed cockpit, winch bases, and indent cover and allowed to dry before proceeding.
- Wiped down the item to speed drying. So far 60 minutes into the day.
- Passed a tack rag lightly over all.
- Applied the first coat of Brightside
to the port winch base.
- Applied third coat of Brightside
on the cockpit, the startboard winch base, and the indent. Used a 1" slant cut brush again. Poured out five ounces. Wasn't enough; ran out before coating the cabin, the front end of the footwell, and the forward third of each side of the foot well. Poured out about two more ounces. Used about six ounces due to the heat. Hotter surfaces caused paint to drag against the brush more quickly than yesterday.
- Second coat of Rust-Oleum
inside the cabin around the penetrations of the aft bulkheaad.
- First coat of Rust-Oleum
inside the cabin around the penetrations of the starboard wall of the cockpit well.
