Installation order of the components is critical. Took more than one try to get it right.
- Install the winch bases. The five machine screws are 10-24 x 2?".
- Install the two pan head machine screws holding the coaming return blocks to the cabin. The top machine screw is 1/4"-20 x 2-1/4A." The bottom machine screw is 1/4"-20 x 2"
- Install loosely the six machine screws securing the coamings to the cockpit sides.
- Install the three 10-24 x 2?" machine screws securing the coamings to the winch bases.
- Tighten the six machine screws holding the coamings to the cockpit sides, but not so much as to distort the wood or place excessive stress on the winch bases.
- Removed the cover.
- Rove the lazy jacks.
- Installed the companionway hatch.
- Installed the companionway hatch boards.
- Sanded the companionway trim with 220 grit, wiped down with tack rag (error!), applied the first coat of Awlwood
gloss.

- Apply second coat of Awlwood gloss the bunged surfaces of the companionway trim.
