Motoring at 2,600rpm resulted in 5.5 knots.
Was to be an overnight to Sillery Bay on July 5th and 6th. Disuaded from the trip by the heat, the probability of mid-morning thunderstorms the next day, and the suspicion that many folks will try to bridge from the Fourth of July holiday through the weekend which would result in a crowded anchorage.
Couple firsts on this trip:
- sighted five dolphins a bit NE of 38d 57.408N by 076d 25.373W. No photos. Too busy getting Leah up from below and looking to take photographs.
- first coffee made on Constance using the Bella Tavola Click2Cook stove
. Boiled enough water for coffee in less than 90 seconds. Leah said the stove on a medium setting.
- first nap on Constance. During the trip back to the dock, after passing R "2" and making coffee, Leah was feeling unwell from the heat and not eating. She laid down in the v-berth with the foreward hatch open but without the Breeze Bandit
rigged. Ventilation was adequate, but just adequate. Odor from the cedar ceiling was pleasant, not too strong.
- installed T-fal skillet, salt and pepper, coffee, peeler, can opener and other galley items in the galley and the aft two lockers on the starboard side.
