Gentle breeze at the downwind start. TC decided to run downt the line from the pin towards the committee in order to get above the fleet. Laughing Gull, on our starboard quarter, wanted to turn down aasa the gun, wanting us to turn down to make room for Laughing Gull. TC refused based upon 1) " A boat has no proper course before the starting signal." and 2) after the start Argo had luffing rights per one the same tack, overrlapped and that Argo did not become "overlapped within two of her hull lengths to leeward of a boat on the same tack".

Course D1. After the start, flew the spinnaker on starboard tack, gybed once, dropped and rounded the "A" mark in the lead of the fleet. Tacked up to G "5" and rounded in the lead. Jaguar, a J/30, slowely rolled over us to windward as we closed mark R "8". TC was able to bear away and preserve our wind and lead. Kim was concerned that we were too close to Jaguar, even though the gap was ten feet from rail to rail. Rounded R "8" in the lead. Re-set the spinnaker for the run to the finish.

Reached G "SC" on starboard tack with a number of J/30's. The boats included Ragdoll, Pogo, Shamrock, TOTALed MAYHEM, Swiss Miss, and others. These boats denied us the room required to sail below the boats in the mooring field. As a result, we dodged to starboard, sailing above the first rank of moored boats. At the end of the line of moored boats, having fallen about one boat length behind Ragdoll and other of the other J/30's, we dodged back to leeward to clear the docks. Fortuantely, we were given the room to which we were entitled in order to clear Minderella, Checkmate, and others in the slips on the north-east side of Spa Creek.

Overall, a short, busy little race. Only one gybe, two tacks, two spinnaker runs, and one spinnake re-pack, but nonetheless it felt busy. Good that Rick was able to join us. Had Rick been absent, TC aand I would have been a lot busier as Kim is still quite raw. This was her second race, after all.

Finishing order: Argo, Skybird, Laughing Gull, Second-2-Nun, LinGin (DNC).
