Managed to run the engine out of fuel by failing to open the fuel petcock at the fuel filter. Re-primed the fuel system using the lever on the fuel pump and allowing the air to escape at the bleeder screw on the on-engine fuel filter. Still required a number of attempts to restart, as I had run the system dry and the priming reaches the on-engine fuel filter and no further.
Sailed out towards the Bay without the engine working yet. After a while, thought better of it. Should the wind have dropped, could have been stranded out there. Sailed back to the area where Spa Creek and the Severn River meet, and then up to the Annapolis Yacht Club area. Finally got the engine running again.
Pumped out the holding tank. Rinsed the tank with two gallons of fresh water before adding glycol. Pumped the fresh water tank dry and added one gallon of glycol then pumped till glycol alone flowed in the sink.
