On the way back to the dock yesterday, having nearly reached the ChartHouse, there was a sudden odor of diesel coming from the cabin. The steel braid covered hose connecting the on-engine fuel filter to the injection pump developed an leak resulting in a spray of diesel onto the starboard side of the engine compartment, onto the engine, and into the bilge.

- Purchased a replacement hose and four copper compression washers from Bay Shore Marine
for about fifty dollars.
- Disconnected cooling water hose from
- Disconnected raw water hose from heat exchanger in order to improve access to the banjo fitting on the injection pump.
- Cleaned the outside of the existing banjo fitting and the area around the fitting.
- Removed the damaged fuel hose.
- Installed the replacement fuel hose with new 12mm compression washers.
- Test fired and ran the engine for 20 minutes. No leaks.
- Cleaned and lubricated the two Lewmar 30 BST cockpit winches.
- Scrubbed the cockpit with Lemon Joy.
