Course: B1.
Time limit: 2020.
Sails: Interrupt mainsail, Tatus II genoa and spinnaker.
Starboard tack reaching start somewhat to windward of LinGin. TC wanted me closer to the pin and to leeward of LinGin. My error.
At the "A", neck and neck with LinGin who was on the inside. LinGin decided to bear off and set a spinnaker immediately, sailing a more direct course of the mark and closer to Greebury Point. We went outside more before turning down and setting. Passed within spitting distance of the weather buoy. Gybed on the downwind leg to port tack. Arrived at mark "B", not too far behind LinGin, Whitecap, and Ronin.
Rounded the mark and headed inside beyond LinGin's line. We went considerably inside, while LinGin was further outside for this upwind leg. Ended up bearing off a bit to honor the "Y". LinGin drove better gaining distance on the leg. Rick thought we might have closed the gap some. LinGin flogging their main hard in the puffs on this windward leg. Our 150LP allowed us to sail without flogging the main, just a small bubble at times.
Passed the "Y". Crossed by LinGin, Whitecap, and Ronin. Tacked to port and was able to squeeze by the R"4", within 10 feet, by pinching a bit. Ronin had not been able to clear the mark and was forced to tack twice to regain the course to R"8".
Finishing order: LinGin, Constance about 270 seconds later. Laughing Gull, Second-2-Nun and Skybird did not start
