Sailed with 135LP genoa alone due to the winds blowing whitecaps down the Severn River with gusts hitting 24 knots and seeing winds from 15 to 20 knots sustained.
When tacking in the river, the force of the would hit the bow and force the boat down to beam on to the wind, till the genoa generated enough drive allow the boat to come back on to the wind. This would happen regardless of the way in which I tacked. Demonstrates the effect of not having a main flying to counteract the force of the wind forward and to balance the boat.
With 18 to 20 knots of sustained wind and the 135LP genoa only, the leeward cap shrouds are slack.
