Interrupt mainsail, Tatus II genoa.
Put in a single reef from the start, not absolutely necessary, but rather made for easier, less energetic sailing, as the wind gusted and subsided. Set up the main with the traveler at mid-beam, result was that I did not need to touch the main while tacking. Worked at heading the boat up as the wind increased and the angle of heel increased till the heel angle dropped to a suitable level. As the wind dropped, headed off a bit in an attempt to maintain speed. Shook out the reef just before turning downwind in Round Bay.
North of the Academy and south of the Academy bridge, spotted two Melon Seed skiffs reaching back and forth across the river. They looked very nice, quite relaxed sitting on the floors of the cockpit.
A Rhodes 22 sailed out of either Brewer Creek or Clements Creek upstream of Constance. Chased. By the time that Constance reached G"5", she had overtaken the Rhodes which was pointing lower on the wind. Rolled the Rhodes smartly as we sailed past Sherwood Forest on the south side of the Severn River.
Added two gallons of diesel to the tank and four gallons to the jerry can. Pumped out, rinsed, and pumped out again.
