Went out to the boat today for two reasons: one, to get in a sail on this 60 degree day in November before the weather turned colder, and two, to run propylene glycol through the systems before night time termpuratures fall into the low twenties tomorrow and several times next week. Found an excessive amount of water in the bilge. The bilge pump, a Rule Rule 25S
would not run. Rather trying to make it run would blow fuses in the switch.
- Installed a Rule Rule LoPro900S
to the failed Rule Rule 25S
which was installed about three years ago.
- Ran glycol into the engine cooling water system.
- Worked the galley foot pump till all water was removed from the system.
- Added 1.5 gallons of glycol to the freshwater tank.
- Repeated pumping did not result in glycol flowing into the hoses of the freshwater system, at least not the section of hose visible in the hanging locker.
- Took home all drinks from the boat but for a couple placed in the sink.
- Took home the spare mainsail, 150LP genoa, and spinnaker (all from time of purchase).
- Took home the cabin cushions, two for the settees and two for the backs of the settes (acquired from Interrupt).
- House battery was at 11.9v. Charged the batteries for about two hours at 12.9v (LiDiVi) and 2 to 3A while working on the items listed above.
