-  Disconnected the wind instrument data/power cable from and threaded the length through the hole in the cabin top. Coiled and secured the length to the mast. 
-  Determined to cut the heavily cracked VHF cable rather than thread it out though the hold in the cabin top.
-  Verfied that the electrical conductors the mast lights can be seperated at the deck fitting.
-  Removed the lower ring cotters from the turnbuckles for the shrouds and backstays.
-  Marked the position of the turnbuckles for the shrouds and backstays using electrical tape.

-  Thought carefully about how we will lower the mast and the possible failures.
