- Cleaned up the cabin.
- Moved the spinnaker pole out of the cabin onto the deck.
- Stowed gear that had accumulated in the cabin over the course of the winter.
- Test fit the new North Sail working jib (see photo). Need to make a 52" pendant for the head of the sail. Made and hanging from starboard hand rail in cabin, waiting to be attached to the sail.
- Bent on the Interrupt racing genoa. Need a half-inch or so more hoist! The halyard knot appears to be tight against the jib block.
- Ways of addressing the lack of hoist include:
- Decrease the size of the knot at the top swivel. Tried, but its not enough. Not keen on passing the halyard through the top swivel and using a stopper knot due to the side loading that would place on the top swivel. May not be a valid concern as the top swivel is side loaded due to the offset of the attachment point from the center line of the foil.
- Replace one of the Selden snap shackles with a D shackle, as was done to both shackles last season.
- Relocate the jib block higher on the mast. If this is the choice, it should have been done while the mast was down.
- Replace the 57mm block (110mm / 4-5/16" long. 359kg / 792lb working load) with a 40mm block (86mm / 3-3/8" long. 220kg / 485lb working load).
