With our team of Laughing Gull and Constance one point ahead of Latika and LinGin, and far ahead of the other two teams, the order of the day was for each of us to finish ahead of those two. Laughing Gull took on LinGin while we positioned Constance between Latika and the windward mark "J". Each time Latika, we would may sure to be above their line and tack on top of them. In this very light air, at time Latika would move ahead a bit becoming obscured by the genoa, at time we would pull ahead and bring her out from behind the genoa. Constance remained two boatlengths to weather of Latika throughout.

On the last board, before the race was called off, Latika went further back to the middle of the river while moving well, but falling farther behind. After the final tacks of the race from port to starboard, Latika was seven boatlengths behind.

LinGin, as is their wont, went quite deep to the right, minimizing the number of tacks, while Laughing Gull sailing the center of the course. The result was that LinGin crossed Laughing Gull by perhaps two boatlengths.

Race aborted due to lack of wind. No hopes of wind increasing. Everyone returned to dock.
