Interrupt mainsail (alone) with one reef.
No drama. Developed waves with many white caps moving up the river. Good bit of spray flying over the foredeck from the bow, some flying high enough to be blown back to the cockpit. The Woodwind was flying genoa and main only, moving quite fast. Virtuall all other boats had a reef in the main, or two. Many with reduced headsail as well.
On the last board out of the river, maintained a course between 120* and 130*, 40* apparent wind and still sailed along at 3.5 to 4.0kts, particularly after clearing Tolly Point.
Sail Trim: main sheeted well, traveler full down in these winds. 15* of heel.
