The rudder has two issues. The first is a crack along the portside top edge of the bottom of the propeller aperature. The second is that the prop took a chuck out of the starboard side of the vertical face of the aperature on the starboard side. The missing chuck shows that the rudder is made of wood with a covering of fiberglass. See first photo below.

Sanded the bottom and damaged vertical section of the rudder aperature faces. Removed existing bottom paint. Smoothed the contour of the damaged section. See the next three photos.

Applied epoxy to the exposed wood and fiberglass. Placed 10oz glass cloth on the epoxy saturated area. Used three pieces to handle the contour. See last two photos.
