Spent two and a half to three hours longboarding the fairing done yesterday: starboard side from bow to cockpit scupper and keel to rudder, port side bow to forward jackstand.
Initial impression is "OMG! I've made it worse!". The longboarding highlights the remaining imperfections. TotalFair
is reported to be easy to sand, but its still substantial work to sand it down.
In yesterday's filling, attempted to cover each area with a single swipe. Did not spread the fairing compound far enough to fair the hull. As a result there are two long low strips in each side of the faired area. Need to fill those and longboard again.
Filled a number of new areas as well as some of the "two long low strips" mentioned above. Will see how this looks after the next longboarding.
Filling around and fairing the starboard cockpit scupper went well enough. Additional filling material needed.
Filled around all the thruhulls.
Applied FSR to a spot on the topsides. Removed all the staining in less than a minute. Quite impressive.
