- Longboarded port bow and thruhulls. Thruhulls are done!
- Sanded the front and under sides of the keel.
- Pulled the knot meter blanking plug. Found a beer left behind by Jonathan Adams from the 2021 Annapolis NOOD
.
- Used emory cloth to sand the front edge of the rudder...regular sandpaper falls apart under the strain.
- Sanded the filler applied to ease the half-inch high ridge formed by the rudder straps covered in fiberglass.
- Washed the deck from the cabin bulkhead aft. Applied FSR
to significant, stubborn stains on the aft deck. Far cleaner. Now I need to apply FSR
to the rest of the aft deck.
- Returned to longboarding the port bow. Removed a significant amount of filler. Much smoother and fairer now.
- Found that a previous owner failed to remove the tape used to mask the top edge of the epoxy barrier coat. Bits of the tape have been exposed by the longboarding. Broke a piece off and created a gouge at the top edge about two inches long, an eighth of an inch wide and too deep to ignore. The dark spot in the port bow photo below is the gouge overfilled. (Forgot about the gouge and had to scramble to fill it just before leaving.) See photo taken on 2022-04-05.
- Applied TotalFair
the to rudder straps again. The existing fill was a bit hollow (concave). Expanded the area of the filler to further ease the ridge. Appears that a good bit of sanding might be needed, but expect that the only significant sanding will be removing the line on top of the rudder strap where the upper and lower filled areas meet.
- Applied filler to the gudgeon. WIll need significant sanding and another coat of filler.
