Rain all day yesterday forestalled work. Rain at times was quite heavy.
- Washed the areas that were under the jackstands with denatured alcohol.
- Applied second coat of Trinidad Pro
to the areas that were under the jackstands.
- Applied Rustoleum cold galvanizing to the propeller. Two coats.
- Reinstalled raw water pump impeller, raw water fan belt and alternator fan belt. Checked air filter.
- Changed the way the electrical harness from the engine to the panel is hung. Now suspended from the cockpit scupper fittings using zip ties. As high and as far from the engine and the exhaust as possible.
- Replaced the stuffing in the stuffing box, per the method of Marine How To, with three rings of Western Pacific Trading 1/4" PTFE Flax Shaft Packing. Tightened stuffing box till the shaft, with transmission in neutral, began to turn with stuffing box, then backed off about 90*. We'll how this works as an initial setting.
- Done per what Maine Sail has written (old version)
- Reassembled exhaust system.
