Sails: Interrupt 170LP genoa and main. EP Sails spinnaker.

Sailed past the pin in company of Where Egos Dare, a Frers 33 , before the start. Reversed course back past the pin and reversed course again at about 1:30 to the start. As we approached the pin to leeward and ahead of LinGin and White Cap had to stall the boat for a few seconds, then powered back up and started just a few seconds after the gun and tight to the pin having closed the door on both LinGin and White Cap.

Did not know the course, so suggested to the crew to keep eyes on Where Egos Dare and we'll follow them around.

Keep ahead of both LinGin and White Cap nearly all the way to the first mark. Fully as fast as LinGin and able to sail the same course as they did. Unfortunately, we sailed high, and so a bit of a curve to windward, whereas about half way to the first mark, LinGin broke away and sailed directly to the mark. As a result, we ended up rounding the first mark immediately after LinGin and ahead of White Cap. Was not able to tack immediately after rounding to follow LinGin as White Cap was in our way, White Cap having rounded just a bit after us. After a few lengths, we had separately enough to leeward to tack and chase LinGin.

LinGin led to the tack from starboard onto port. We continued on several lengths to make sure of clear air, and then tacked. Ended up with White Cap ahead of us by a couple lengths. Was able to sail as fast as White Cap and perhaps a bit higher. Reached the layline for the last tack to the windward mark abeam White Cap to leeward. Meanwhile, LinGin has sailed a bit lower and further out into the bay. LinGin tacked and made her run for the windward mark. We tacked below White Cap who tacked soon after. As we approached the windward mark, the last few boat lengths, the wind died away leaving us nearly without way and being pushed by the weak tide down the bay. Ended up touching the windward mark as we slide to leeward with very little forward motion. Tried to pivot the boat around the mark, but to no avail.
