Used a folding extension rule, wood lath, and a hot glue gun to template the shelf. Worked out very well. Cut and glued lengths of lath to fit the backside of the settee, the forward divider and the aft bulkhead. Glued a piece of lath from the divider to the aft bulkhead and added "fingers" of lath to obtain points contacting the inside of the hull.

Laid the template on top of 23/32" thick plywood which I cut with a 7-1/2" Skil circular saw. The resulting shelf was a bit too large. Beveled the front edge of the shelf to clear the decorative trim that covers the top of the settee divider. Beveled/reduced the outer edge a bit using a belt sander to allow the shelf to drop onto the cleats.

Pleased with the result and the ease of templating.
