Sailed with 135LP genoa and one reef in the Interrupt main. Started off wondering why I had the reef. As the boat moved away from the Naval Academy towards Greenbury Point, the wind increased. On the way back from Y"A" toward the Academy saw as much as 18kts apparent wind. Boat well heeled over, trying to spill water over the rail. Used that extra energy to feather the boat up towards the wind and gain height. Doing so puts the boat on a more even keel, less angle of heel, as well.
Sailed remarkably fast upwind with apparent wind angle of 40*, less in the gusts, sustaining 5.5+kts, hitting the numbers listed in the polars from Laughing Gull's ORR-Ez certificate.
