- Removed the packing tape.
- Washed the dorade box, inside and out, with hot, soapy water to remove any amine blush.
- Sanded the new fiberglass inside the dorade box with 120 grit on a 3M sanding block. Mainly done to remove bits of glass sticking out that would cut and pierce flesh.
- Applied TotalFair
to fill the few voids left at the end of the newly closed hole and the plastic ring mounting holes.
- Given today's temperatures of 80* to 90*, the filler should be sandable in about 4.5 to 5.5 hours or between 1530 and 1630.
- About 1600, used 120 grit to sand the outside of the dorade box smooth. Washed the box, inside and out, with hot, soapy water.
- About 1700, after the dorade box dried, applied one coat of Pre-Kote
. Nothing like primer to show the spots that were missing in filling and fairing.
