Sailed with 135LP genoa and the Interrupt main. Backstay at 3.

Glorious day for sailing. Particulary so that such a day should appear in the middle of August.

Immediately after raising sail, spotted two J/24's marked "ChessieRacing" that appeared to be practicing match racing. Great day for it. Their course, southeast of the Horn Point Bar, had buoys set to their start line and windward mark.

Sailed, tacked downwind, to Y"A" twice times and beat back up the Academy. The Navy 26 's (Colgate 26's) were out in force milling about. Sailed among them to show how a much heavier boat (9,000 vs 2,600) with a bit longer waterline (21.67' vs 20'), equivalent draft (4.25 vs 4.5) and half the Displacement to Length Ratio (395 vs 145) can outsail them. At least today.

The Navy 26 Standard Operating Procedures are online.
