While playing Pickleball at Wheaton Recreation Center, received a call from Fred Alvarado. Fred was checking on his boat at Smith's. His boat is directly aft of Constance, on the hard there. Fred found the floor boards afloat. On his own initiative, he contacted the marina and obtained a pool pump (about 7" in diameter). When I responded to his call, an hour and a half later, he removed the aft battery from its compartment, inserted the pump into the space created and pumped all the water out of the boat that he could. The pump was too large to fit below the engine.

Fred also moved all gear from flooded spaces to points above the water.

Drove out to Smith's. Fred was just leaving as I arrived. Used a small shopvac to remove the remaining water from the boat.

Set up a fan in the companionway to pull air through the boat all night hoping that the air movement would contribute to drying and prevent any condensation or mold formation.

As Fred found the boat:

No idea of the source for so much water. While we had heavy rain the day before, a single rainstorm could not have resulted in so much water in the boat. Companionway was closed.

After Fred pumped out the water accessible to the pool pump:
