During the 2024 Annapolis Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta , the Spinlock XAS line clutch on the portside of the cabin top was damaged in two ways.
First fix:
Oiled the handle pivot pin using Lewmar winch oil.
Per the service instruction drove the handle pivot pin to free the genoa halyard cam and handle.
Removed the spring arm. Noted that the spring arm was bent some 5* to 10*. Removed the spring arm, slide the spring off the arm, hammered the arm straight.
Reassembled the line clutch. Problem solved.
Second fix:
Drove the pin to free the downhaul cam and handle.
Removed the cam and handle, repositioned the cam relative to the body and reassembled.
Problem solved.
All three pieces of the spring arm assembly (arm, spring, socket) are available from Boat Warehouse in Australia ($87), SailRace in the UK ($78) or suppilers in the UK.
US shops have the arm and the spring for sale together without the socket.
