- Freed forward half of the quarter-round screwed into the top of the starboard bow toerail to expose the aft end of the damaged section.
- Created a jig to help guide the PR20EVS router
.
- Used the router to remove the damaged teak in multiple passes, removing a thin section each time. In doing so, exposed part of a screw that secured the torn-off cleat. Exposed one of the machine screws securing the toerail to the hull without hitting the head of the machine screw with the cutter.
- Dug out the broken off screw. Perhaps a #10.
- Used a chisel to create square corners at the fore and aft ends of the routed out area.
- Neither piece of wood that I brought was an acceptable fit for the area. Will have to check for additional pieces at home.
