After installing a Schaefer 5 Series Cheek Block on the starboard side of the boom for the reefing line, took the boat out for a test. Reefed and shook out the reef a couple times. Works well enough. Perhaps the block should have been mounted a bit farther aft, but it works, particularly as the fixed end of the reefing line is secured around the end of the boom, aft the clew slide, with a buntline hitch.
