Installed raw water impeller, fan belts, and raw water strainer.
Took the boat out to test the engine prior to moving the boat to Whitehall Marina tomorrow.
Forgot to tighten the alternator pivot bolt. Nut shook off the end. Bolt worked out till it contacted the fan belt. Damaged the fan belt.
Shut the engine down when I detected the problem due to a section of wire from the belt thrashing around as the engine turned.
Floated in the harbor, in the mooring field, no wind, while I removed the belt and tried to find the nut.
No luck. Motored back to the slip without the alternator, coolant pump fan belt installed.
Need to replace the bolt, the nut, a lock washer, and the fan belt.
